Tauern cycle path between Salzburg and Braunau

The Tauern Cycle Path runs for a total of 310 km from Krimml in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg to Passau on the Bavarian-Upper Austrian border. This multi-day tour leads over a total of six stages, which of course can also be completed on your own. Along the Salzach there is a quiet cycle path from Salzburg to Oberndorf, right on the German border to Laufen. Via Ostermiething you reach Tittmoning and Burghausen on the Bavarian side, before the day’s stage ends in Braunau after a total of 76 km. The tour is characterized by relatively easy terrain with moderate inclines that lead to beautiful natural sites, monuments, museums and inns.

Big Wallerseerunde

Are you looking for challenging bike tours in Flachgau? Then the big Wallerseerunde is made for you. The 52 km can be completed in three to four hours and seem to invite you to a relaxed little trip between Eugendorf and Henndorf, but far from it! Along the Kolomannsberg and finally from Steindorf, the route becomes quite steep and undulating with some significant ascent. The magnificent panorama with the Tennengebirge, the Untersberg and the Watzmann as a rugged rock backdrop is and remains incomparable. Finally, via Schleedorf and Seekirchen, the route is leisurely and largely downhill to Eugendorf.

Great Gaisbergrunde

The Gaisbergrunde is one of the queens among bike tours in Flachgau. Its varied terrain with a healthy, balanced mix of tricky inclines, long flat sections and a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains makes it a popular two-wheeler option for cyclists, mountain bikers and racing cyclists. The 55 km can be covered in about four hours and lead via Eugendorf and Thalgau around the Gaisberg and finally downhill to Elsbethen. After a tour through the city of Salzburg along the Salzach, you drive back to Eugendorf via Itzling and Ischlerbahnstraße.
