Safety and sustainability at the 107. ÖSFA winter4. October 2021
The Brandboxx Salzburg was once again the hub of the domestic sports industry, as Austria’s largest fashion wholesale center from February 18th to 20th, 2020 for the 107th time. ÖSFA Winter invited. While the current winter season is slowly but surely drawing to a close, the exhibitors and fixed tenants are already looking to winter 2020/21. During the fair and at the first ÖSFA press lunch, international labels and the hottest newcomers presented their trends and innovations.
Comfort with security
In the alpine area – whether skiers, snowboarders, tourers, winter hikers or snowshoe hikers – comfortable and at the same time functional innovations are announced that are fashionable and comfortable without having to compromise on safety. Uvex Ultra Pro, the new Uvex hybrid helmet, prevents overheating in the head area thanks to its own ventilation system, which can even be actively regulated. Atomic’s new touring and freeride shoe Hawx Prime XTD can be switched between walking mode (full freedom of movement in the valley and in the hut) and ski mode (optimal power transfer between body and ski) using a lever in the heel area. Nordica, on the other hand, is presenting a hands-free concept for best agers to guarantee alpine fun even at an advanced age. Head’s electronic ski damping system could also come into play here. Modern security solutions from Leki and Komperdell combine design with protection and prove that you can travel in style in every situation.
Sustainability in the sports sector too
The current Brandboxx trade fair theme “Shades of Nature”, already featured at the fashion premiere Fashion night and Lingerie & Swimwear Salon are enthusiastically presented and are dedicated to the central idea of sustainability. This factor will also play an even more important role in the sports industry in the future. The local clothing label Löffler strives for regionality and sustainability. 90% of the entire added value is generated in Europe, 70% of the clothing is knitted in Ried im Innkreis – certainly a model for the industry. Salewa combines state-of-the-art, hybrid insulation technology with traditional Samer knitwear as well as areas that consist of 100% recycled woolen yarns and down certified as Responsible Down Standard.
