While the thermometer is rotating more and more frequently around zero, warm coats and jackets are slowly but surely slipping out of the closet. Given the current weather conditions, the trend towards winter jackets and winter coats should hardly come as a surprise, but what is actually really hot? Noble pieces from the collections of national and international flagship labels are rediscovering real classics and at the same time venturing to some new shores.

Thick and cozy: the down jacket

Actually, down jackets have never really gone out of fashion, although they have only limited relevance to high fashion. The extremely thick jackets are excellent for warming, but they don’t exactly flatter the figure. Winter fashion 2019/20 now hides this problem area with a wide variety of visual stimuli. Exciting color combinations and fur accents enliven every style in a variety of ways.

The trend towards winter coats made of faux fur

Speaking of fur accents: the good old coat is developing into a fashion statement. In the coming winter season things can get a bit more pompous, because fur elements are an absolute must. Don’t worry, it’s only fake fur, of course. Simple designs and various types of fur can be optimally combined with simple jeans or shift dresses. Tired of fake fur? No problem either, because checked patterns are finding their way into the jacket sector. Large and small checked styles go perfectly with office and leisure outfits.

Modern classics from parkas to anoraks

In general, however, it has been shown that familiar jackets and coats are long-running hits once again. Parkas and anoraks remain indispensable, of course with modern styling. If you don’t want to wear a down jacket, a parka or duffle coat is well advised. Hoods and toggle closures adorn these preferably olive-green models, with blue and brown tones now also mixing – by the way, the perfect companion for an evening dress. Anoraks, known to many as the typical windbreaker, are given additional lining for the cold season. The trendy winter jackets get artificial down and spread sporty charm – an indispensable part of the leisure sector.

And what will the trend winter jackets look like in the following season? They’ll soon be offering Trade Shows the Brandboxx exclusive insights into the autumn and winter trends 2020/2021.
