Prepare your wardrobe for winter clothes now!
It’s time to change your wardrobe shift! While summer is finally saying goodbye and winter is already sending its first frosty harbingers across the country, the wardrobe is also changing. Longer, warmer clothing comes into focus, outfits, colors and materials are also slowly but surely adapting to the season. Now is the perfect opportunity to prepare the wardrobe for winter clothes and at the same time to make space for fresh purchases!
Clearing and cleaning
Before the winter wardrobe can find space, the various summer outfits must first disappear from the closet – so far, so good. The mission “winter-proof wardrobe” begins with the partial to complete clearing out of the status quo. The summer wardrobe, if not winter-proof, is completely taken out of the closet. This gives you an overview of the available space as well as the clothes that need to be stowed away – more on that in a moment. Before you clear your wardrobe from summer to winter, it must of course be completely cleaned. With a mild, environmentally friendly all-purpose cleaner, wipe compartment by compartment, insert by insert, then leave to dry sufficiently and, if necessary, place one or the other mild scented pillow.
Sorting out and storing
Before you completely rearrange the wardrobe, space must be found for the summer wardrobe, which has been archived, at least for the time being. But should each piece really be preserved? Sure, sometimes it is not that easy to part with parts that you have cherished. What has been lying unworn in a corner for several years and only moved from the cupboard to the box and back every six months can perhaps be given to friends or aid organizations. Take the opportunity to check your wardrobe for holes and tears. What can no longer be saved is sorted out. This also helps with storage, because fewer clothes mean less storage space is required and also creates valuable space for new items from the upcoming winter collections. Depending on the cupboard and space available, you can move the temporarily archived summer wardrobe to the back, far up or stow it in your own boxes or boxes – if possible protected from external influences, in order to avoid nasty dust attacks over the winter.
Placing and sorting
Your wardrobe is finally ready for winter clothes. Many see tidying up and sorting as a real queen and queen discipline. Prepare a system of organization before you fill the cupboard for winter. Perhaps the thematic sorting – all dresses, all blouses, all pants grouped – is appropriate, perhaps your own color clusters make more sense. Ideally, hang up as many pieces as possible. This not only prevents annoying creasing, but also creates a quick overview. Sweaters, on the other hand, want to be stacked, because knitwear and hangers do not get along well over time. If the worst comes to the worst, you can of course treat yourself to one or the other new part. With the right overview and the necessary space in the closet, this is easy.
