Oktoberfest Dirndl Trends 2019
4. October 2021While a hot summer is currently drawing its fashion circles, the view is already looking into the fashion future. Autumn is soon knocking on the door and with it a lot of traditional things. The Harvest Festival and Oktoberfest are considered institutions for costume enthusiasts. With the right style you not only feel good, you also become a real eye-catcher. But what is really hot this season? The meadow dirndl trends are both traditional and extremely varied.
Greetings from pastel
What has already found its way into fashion everywhere is now also finding its way into the world of traditional costumes: pastel tones are absolutely trendy and refine every dress. The traditional costume for the Oktoberfest promises exciting combinations with dusky pink, lilac or delicate mint green. This subtle, unobtrusive look reveals incredible style options and also gives every outfit a soft, romantic touch. With the dirndl dress itself, of course, the length still matters. If you are a bit more traditional, you should at least let the hem play around the knee. A short dirndl is frowned upon in many places. The summer dirndl in particular manages this balancing act on and around the knee perfectly and knows how to inspire at the Oktoberfest or at the Harvest Festival.
The timeless look
Of course, the classic must not be missing from the Dirndl trends 2019. It is still going on very high up. The combination of a high-necked blouse and balcony dirndl with a deep cleavage © gives classic cuts an attractive twist. Incidentally, this blouse variant looks particularly good with a lace border and three-quarter sleeves. Speaking of blouses: even if they are traditionally part of the dirndl, they are not a must. Dresses with a close-fitting neckline do not need a blouse at all. Instead, eye-catching floral patterns ensure attention and a good mood. The rest of the styling, on the other hand, should be on the reserved side, the make-up should be subtle.
Style breaks as a statement
Traditional or Modern? Year after year, that’s the big question of faith, especially when it comes to Oktoberfest dirndl trends. In fact, style breaks can work just fine, provided they are appropriate and enhance the outfit. Blatant deviations from the classic line are noticeable negatively, and so the corresponding statements can best be made on a small scale. Until a few years ago, for example, velvet would have been an absolute no-go, but is now increasingly used even by well-known costume manufacturers. However, the heavy material is intended for cooler Oktoberfest days. There is now significantly more freedom on the foot. The shoe fashion for the Oktoberfest and the Harvest Festival could hardly be wilder. Sneakers and dirndls, that just fit now. Even specially designed traditional costume sneakers are currently arriving and ensure that you can stay on your feet longer. Espadrilles with sequins or lace also add unusual and charming accents. Combined with an extravagant, eye-catching clutch, it balances itself perfectly on the fine line between contemporary fashion consciousness and traditional claim.
